The problem is I've been spending too much time in Hawaii. My body does not seem to be acclimatizing to the encroaching winter.
I got an email form Wayne this morning saying there were a lot of Moose in Powerline Pass. Normally I hope out and hike up there, but even though it is only about 25 degrees I can't seem to get warm. I have all the best gear, but I feel a bit silly in my -40 down expedition jacket when it's only just below freezing.
Over the weekend I spent a lot more time outside. Alaska Mountain Rescue was training another batch for the NASAR SAR Tech II and I went out and followed along, offering tips for the nav course (which by the way is not easy) and taking some photos in hopes of putting something together for our upcoming magazine release. Now it was not to cold either hovering just above freezing.
It has been quite clear yesterday and today. If the weather holds, I'll just Ranger and run up to the hills tomorrow for some late fall photography.
